What happens when you step away from the noise for seven days? No phone, no schedules, no endless to-do list. Just permission to be.
Join Dave Porter for a week of yoga, reflection, connection and renewal at Mar de Jade, set between tropical jungle and the warm Pacific. It's the kind of place where you slow down whether you meant to or not.
This isn't about escaping your life. It's about making enough space to hear yourself again.

Who this is for
Come because you love yoga. Because you need a break. Because you're at a crossroads. Or because seven days on the Pacific coast of Mexico sounds pretty damn good.
Some guests practice five times a week. Some haven't been on a mat in years. Most don't arrive knowing exactly what they're looking for, and that's fine.
Just arrive. We'll take it from there.
What the week gives you
Every morning: yoga overlooking the ocean. Powerful vinyasa with breathwork, meditation, stillness and great music. It challenges you when you need it and gives you room when you need to soften.
Through the week, Dave brings in his work as a life coach with workshops and honest conversations about where you are, what's no longer serving you, and what comes next.
And there's plenty of time to do absolutely nothing.
- Move your body every day, in a way that meets you where you are
- Get honest about what's not working, with someone who's done it himself
- Leave with real clarity on your next chapter
- Arrive a stranger, go home with people you'll still be talking to next year
- Come back rested, stronger and clearer
The place
Mar de Jade
For more than 40 years, Mar de Jade has been combining wellness, sustainability and real community impact right on the Pacific. Most of what's on your plate comes from their organic farm. The staff come from the town, and the retreat gives back to it.
It's a place with real heart, and that's why we keep going back.

Your guide
Dave Porter
For more than 25 years, Dave has been helping people find their way back to themselves, on the mat and off it.
He co-founded CorePower Yoga in 2001 and helped grow it into one of America's biggest yoga communities. Then he went home to South Africa and built YogaLife in Cape Town. Today he's a yoga teacher, life coach and retreat leader in California.
What shapes his teaching most is the life he's lived: reinvention, relationships, fatherhood, sobriety, building businesses and letting them go, starting over in new countries. He knows real change takes more than knowing what to do.
His classes are strong, soulful and accessible, with plenty of humor.

FAQ
Do I need yoga experience?
No. Dave meets you exactly where you are on the day.
Can I come alone?
Most people do. Many leave with friendships that last well beyond the week.
Is it intense?
There's depth and there's lightness. There's work and there's play. And there's plenty of time to lie on the beach and do nothing.
What's the weather like in late April?
Warm and sunny, around 80–85°F (27–29°C), with comfortable evenings.
Is there Wi-Fi and phone signal?
Yes. Wi-Fi covers the property, but cell service can be limited in some areas.
Any extra costs once I'm there?
Only spa treatments, massages, alcohol and gratuities. Everything else is covered.
What if I have questions before I book?
Message Dave directly. He'd rather talk than have you guess.
