Yoganatomy & Asana: Upper Body with Michael Suzerris

yoganatomy_upperHave you ever wondered just what the SI joint is, or what the Sacrum looks like or why muscles feel achy or intense when stretched? When doing a backbend why is it just as important to open the hip flexors as it is the shoulders? This workshop is designed to give you an overview of the body in a way that leaves a ‘mental map' of your own body. Both the Yoganatomy for the lower body and upper body will be in a format that combines:

*study of anatomy with charts and models

*study of anatomy with ‘live modeling'

*applying what we've learned to yoga practice

Lower Body will include bones and muscles of the hips, pelvis, legs, knees, ankles, feet and lower abdominal organs.

Upper Body will include bones and muscules of the spine, ribcage, shoulders, neck, head, arms, hands and upper internal organs.

Both the Yoganatomy and Asana workshops will be applicable (three hours each) to the Teacher Training Certification as part of the anatomy requirements.
